We held a webinar on the topic of “Commercialization of Technological Startups.”
During the webinar, Serhat Duyar, a startup mentor from “Bilişim Vadisi,” shared his experience on this subject.
On March 17, memorandum of understanding signed between "Innovations Center" LLC (INNOLAND), which is subordinate to the State Agency for Citizens Service and Social Innovations under the President of The Republic of Azerbaijan, and “Yeni Fikir” LLC. The purpose of the Memorandum is to support entrepreneurship ecosystems for technological startups in our country and in the regions of Azerbaijan and to implement a high-level partnership that serves the needs of emerging (or other) technology entrepreneurs.
The document, along with the formation and development of technology entrepreneurship, also reflects cooperation issues related to the strengthening of business initiatives. Thus, the content of the Memorandum reflects the factors that are being estimated for the establishment and development of innovation ecosystems in our country, as well as business initiatives.
"Innovations Center" LLC (INNOLAND) cooperates with local and international organizations in accordance with the strategy of the development of innovation ecosystem in our country and in the region, as well as for the development of technology entrepreneurship (startups). As one of such organizations, "Yeni Fikir" LLC is one of the companies operating in the intellectual sector in Azerbaijan and having a specific role in the formation of startup culture.
Thus, the "Yeni Fikir" startup competition, which was held for the sixth time this year, is being implemented by "Yeni Fikir" LLC, sponsored by BP, the Baku Engineering University. The company "Yeni Fikir" cooperates with "Innovations Center" LLC (INNOLAND) in organizing the same startup competition. Five startup projects that will win the competition.
The development of five startup projects that will win the competition will also be supported at the Innoland Incubation and Acceleration Center.

Hakatonun bağlanış tədbirində Dövlət Agentliyinin “İnnovasiyalar Mərkəzi”nin direktoru Vüsal Rüstəmov, Rəqəmsal İnkişaf və Nəqliyyat Nazirliyi yanında Kosmik Agentliyin ("Azərkosmos") Strategiya və biznesin inkişafı departamentinin direktoru Natavan Həsənova, “NASA Space Apps Baku”nun layihə rəhbəri Nigar Rəsulzadə və digər qonaqlar iştirak ediblər.
Hakatonun məqsədi qlobal əhəmiyyətli prioritet istiqamətlərdə qeyd olunan mövzulara dair açıq mənbəli həllər yaratmaq, müvafiq sahələrin elmi tədqiqinə maraq oyatmaq, yeni nəsil alimlərin, texnoloqların, dizaynerlərin və mühəndislərin böyüməsini və müxtəlifliyini təşviq etməkdir.
Müsabiqədə 690 müraciətçidən müsabiqə üsulu ilə seçilmiş 23 komanda 36 saat ərzində (7-8 oktyabr tarixində) hakatonun əsas mövzuları olan iqlimin idarəolunması, təhsil texnologiyaları, yanğınların idarəolunması, virtual və artırılmış reallıqlar, sosial layihələr istiqamətlərində tapşırıqları həll edib.
Bağlanış tədbirində komandaların hazırladıqları prototiplər münsiflər heyəti tərəfindən qiymətləndirilib. Orijinallığı, konseptləri, ixtiraçılığı ilə fərqlənən, yaradıcı problem həlli və qeyri-standart düşünmə nümayiş etdirən həllər 3 yer üzrə seçilib.
Komandalar arasından "Optimum" 1-ci yerə, "Proxima" 2-ci yerə, "PlatonTech" isə 3-cü yerə layiq görülüb.
Sonda qalib komandalara mükafatlar təqdim olunub.
Ölkə üzrə qalib gələn komandalar dünyanın 350 şəhərində keçirilmiş hakaton qalibləri ilə birgə yarışacaqlar.
The “Demo Day” event of the IV “TUSI” incubation program, implemented by the “Innovation Center” of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, within the framework of the “Skills for the Future” project, has been held.
The objective is to strengthen human capital in the field of innovation and promote innovative activities in education. At the same time, creating conditions for the development of students’ innovative ideas and directing them toward invention and startup activities are among the key priorities.
The event was attended by Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency; Firudin Gurbanov, Deputy Minister of Science and Education; Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency; Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, Vice President for Communications and External Affairs for the Caspian Region at bp; as well as rectors of higher education institutions in the country.
Within the framework of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding on “Cooperation in the Formation and Development of an Innovation Environment in Universities” was signed between the State Agency and newly joined institutions — Azerbaijan Medical University, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, and the Academy of the State Customs Committee.
Afterwards, the guests ознакомились with the projects of the startup teams.
During the event, speeches by officials were delivered, and a video highlighting the work carried out within the project was presented.
Sixteen startup teams that successfully completed the IV “TUSI” incubation program presented their projects. Based on the jury’s evaluation, the top three projects were granted the opportunity to become residents of the INNOLAND Incubation and Acceleration Center. The first-place winner also earned the right to participate in the “Take Off Istanbul” startup summit.
Detailed information was provided about the upcoming V “TUSI” incubation program. Through intensive training covering 10 main topics and 34 sub-modules, the program offers participants extensive opportunities for building startups, systematically developing ideas, and integrating into the innovation ecosystem.
Since 2021, cooperation has been established with 15 higher education institutions within the framework of the project; more than 300 startup ideas have been submitted by over 3,000 students. With the support of more than 130 trained university mentors, 29 startup teams have been formed and have presented their projects at “Demo Day” events.
To date, four startups formed within the “Skills for the Future” project have attracted a total of 310,000 AZN in investment.
